Chicago Weekends are Anything But Boring
Recently went with a friend to make DIY scented candles โ such great value! Not only do you get the fun of crafting something yourself, but you also take home a candle with your own custom scent. Perfect for relaxing, making gifts, or giving to someone special ๐ ๐ง Step 1: Choose your vessel Lots of colors and styles to pick from โ you can also choose between making a candle or a diffuser. As a matcha lover, I went with a green jar โ simple and fresh ๐ต ๐ Step 2: Pick your scents The shop has a whole wall of fragrance oils to sample โ florals, fruits, earthy tones, woods, spices, even coffee scentsโฆ itโs almost overwhelming but so fun to sniff around! I picked three favorites, and the staff helped me decide which worked best as base, middle, and top notes to create a balanced blend. ๐ช Step 3: Mix, stir, pour Blend your fragrance oils into melted wax, stir well, pour into your jar โ and thatโs it! It takes a few hours to cool โ you can pick it up same day if youโre not in a rush, or come back within two weeks. My 12oz candle cost around $50 โ larger sizes are even more cost-effective (some huge jars are only around $70โ80!). ๐ Lighting my own candle at home made the room feel so cozy right away. Since you choose the scents yourself, thereโs no risk of not liking it. Plus the packaging is really nice โ makes for a great gift too. ๐ Aura Candle Bar 3338 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60657 Highly recommend going with friends โ if you love candles or hands-on crafting, definitely give it a try! #ChicagoLife #ChicagoDowntown #ChicagoExploration #ChicagoFun #ChicagoArea #DIYCandle
