City Nights with a Hidden Tipple – The Best Hidden Cocktail Bar 🥃

Jerry Thomas Speakeasy 🇮🇹 The best cocktail bar I’ve experienced in Rome so far!🤌 This place is a true speakeasy, inspired by the Prohibition-era speakeasies. The concept is well-executed here. Entry is members-only and requires a reservation. 🤏🏽 Membership is 5 euros per person.💰 Upon entering, you’ll receive a card similar to a luggage check-in card. After filling out your personal information, you’ll get a ticket stub. You can use this stub to avoid the membership fee for the next six months. The bar is located in a very ordinary alley in the city center. Since it’s hidden, the entrance looks like a regular residential door. It’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention‼️ The giveaway is the line of people waiting outside. (Though Italians seem to stand and chat everywhere!) The staff at the door are very welcoming and will ask about your reservation. They’ll also ask if you need service in English or Italian. This level of attention to detail is impressive.👍👍 They’ll also explain the history of the bar and the rules for drinking inside. Cigars are allowed, but regular smoking is not. Once inside, you’re greeted with hospitality reminiscent of Hot Pot restaurants known for their exceptional service）. From helping with your coat to pulling out chairs for ladies and offering a welcome drink, the staff introduce the menu with almost ceremonial dedication. They ask about your preferences and make professional recommendations. Since we were near the bar, the bartender and servers frequently checked in. Even when we chatted in Chinese, we got a response in Chinese from the bar. So language is definitely not an issue here – the staff are very attentive! Giving the service a full mark is not an exaggeration! Back to the drinks, classics are classics. We ordered White Lady, Negroni, Side Car, and a few of their signature cocktails – all were top-notch. Prices are quite reasonable, ranging from 10-12 euros. The dim lighting and soft music create a perfect atmosphere. This is definitely a bar I’d visit again in Rome! Remember to book in advance, and the bar stays open late – perfect for a nightcap!
