Claudia โ Spring 2025 Visit to a Chicago Michelin-Starred Gem ๐ธ
Itโs been six months since my first visit to Claudia right after it opened. This time, I returned with a friend visiting from Canada to try the new spring menu. ๐ฎ Bean panna cotta with salmon roe โ light, sweet, and tasting of spring. ๐ฆ Lobster with uni ice cream โ never had uni ice cream before! Savory-sweet balance was perfect. Felt like an evolution of their earlier passionfruit pasta. ๐ Arctic char with cucumber threads and flowers in a Thai coconut curry broth โ way better than Alineaโs overthought curry. ๐ Snail tempura โ now upgraded with snail roe (white bits, bottom right). Surprisingly mild and pleasant. ๐ฆ Another lobster course โ this time paired with carrots. ๐ Lamb trio: chop + morels + sweetbread croquette + neck meat. If you donโt like lamb, you can request fish instead. ๐ Yuzu parfait, followed by pistachio parfait โ both tasty, but too similar in format (felt a bit lazy). Portions were generous, flavors were solid, and the chef kept classics like the bento box, snail, and ice pop courses while refreshing the rest. The non-alcoholic pairing was thoughtful โ each drink echoed an ingredient from the dish (e.g., cucumber drink with cucumber-topped fish). Will definitely return when the menu changes again โ highly recommended!
