Cleveland Restaurant Hunt | Wild Mango — Asian Fusion
What’s it like to eat Asian Fusion in a more rural area? Well, Wild Mango in Crocker Park gave us a pretty fun answer! 😄 We ended up here because a friend in our group only loves Asian food, and let’s just say—this spot exceeded our expectations, starting with its vibe. First off, the restaurant’s decor is so upscale—it feels like a fancy steakhouse where you’d drop $200 per person. But don’t worry about your wallet! We tested it out, and the average cost per person is under $50—total value for the ambiance and portion sizes. A heads-up: This place serves tons of carbs, and the portions are huge. Four of us ordered three main dishes, and we still had leftovers (honestly, each main could easily feed two people!). Also—their complimentary bread is amazing—but you have to ask for it! They won’t bring it out automatically, and you don’t want to miss it 😋. 🍽️ Our Food Breakdown Chicken Potstickers: These are on the smaller side, and not as crispy as we hoped—but the seasoning is solid. They’re a decent starter, just don’t expect that satisfying crunch. Baby Fried Calamari: So good! The squid is tender, and the coating is perfectly crispy. The wonton wrapper it’s served with is nothing special, but let’s be real—almost every fried calamari in Cleveland hits, and this one’s no exception 🦑. Stuffed Chicken: The star here is the fried rice underneath—it’s flavorful, fluffy, and packed with umami. The chicken itself is wrapped in bacon and stuffed with spinach and cheese. It’s good, but the fried rice definitely steals the show 🍚. Roasted Duck: The eggplant that comes with it is chef’s kiss—soft, savory, and so tasty! The duck’s sauce is a bit too sweet for our liking, but overall, it’s decent. The risotto on the side is just okay, and I personally prefer duck cooked medium-rare (this was a bit well-done for me). Bouillabaisse: This dish is the definition of “fusion”! I’ve never had traditional French bouillabaisse, but this version is a Southeast Asian-style curry noodle soup loaded with seafood—mussels (they had a slight fishy taste, fair warning), clams, super tender fish fillets, shrimp, and scallops. It’s surprisingly delicious—easily our second favorite after the bread 🥘. Sautéed Scallops: The risotto here has watermelon in it… I couldn’t wrap my head around the sweet-savory combo, but my friends loved it! The scallops are served with a thin mushroom cream sauce—again, my friends thought it was great, and I thought it was solid (just not my personal favorite) 🍉. Overall, Wild Mango is a fun spot for Asian Fusion in a less urban area. It’s got great ambiance, huge portions, and enough unique dishes to make it worth a visit—especially if you’re with a group that loves sharing food. #ClevelandEats #WildMango #AsianFusion #RestaurantHunt #FoodieAdventures
