Cocoro Chicago | Ate Anyway… 🍽️
Probably won’t return, but since I already ate (and spent the money 😅), here’s a review for the data points! (I skipped sukiyaki to try more variety.) 👌 Not Bad: 🐟 Grilled Saba & 🍜 Nabeyaki Udon – Nothing special, but decent. Wouldn’t mind having them again if I ever go back. ❌ Won’t Order Again: 🌊 Uni Shooter – Small cup, okay flavor, but the seasoning completely overpowered the uni. Feels like the uni was just there to justify the price 💰. 🦪 Fried Oyster – Too much breading for my taste (personal preference though). Sauce was fine. 🍢 Yakitori – Unfortunately… not good. Chicken was dry and bland, just brushed with sauce. 🍳 Tamagoyaki – Tasted fine, but made me want to try making it at home! 🐖 Tonkatsu – Too lean and dry, with the same thick breading as the fried oysters. 🥒 Unakyu Roll – Eel and cucumber roll… meh. Forgot to even take a pic 😑. 🍹 Drinks: 🍈 Melon Pico – Sweet little cocktail, tasted like Calpico/yogurt drink mixed with alcohol. Overall: Fairly average flavors for a higher price point.
