College Student’s 1,500 eju Island Trip 🇰🇷 (Flight Included ✈️)

I’m here to share my budget travel guide from a trip to Jeju Island at the end of January this year—it’s such a perfect spot for a low-cost weekend getaway! 😊 First, Let’s Break Down the Expenses 📊 Accommodation 🏠: 236 RMB I stayed at a mid-priced youth hostel for 2 nights. It was super clean, though the vibe was pretty basic. The front desk guy was really friendly! Food 🍽️: 540 RMB Personally, I found food in Jeju a bit pricey—if you want a nice meal, it’ll cost over 100 RMB per person. I didn’t skimp on food at all; I basically bought and tried everything I felt like eating. That said, I did grab one meal from a convenience store to save a little. Transportation 🚌 + SIM Card ☎️: 88 I never took a taxi—taking buses in Jeju isn’t expensive, with a starting fare around 6 . Buses cover most places you’d want to go, though some routes have really long waiting times (like, way long). You can buy a bus card at convenience stores; I topped mine up with 10,000 KRW (about 55 ) and found it pretty convenient overall. Travel Experience 🧳 I think Jeju Island is ideal for a weekend trip—it’s affordable, flights are easy to book, and it’s perfect for first-time international travelers (total newbies, this one’s for you!). Payments are also relatively hassle-free, which is a big plus. About the Culture & People 🗻 Jeju is such a charming island—you can see both snow-capped mountains and the sea here! The locals are all so nice too. I met a kind grandma who’s a Jeju farmer, and waiters were extra attentive when I ordered food. One sweet memory: When I went to Hallasan Mountain, heavy snow closed the trails. A local ajusshi (uncle) from the scenic area drove me down the mountain himself, and he even told me tons of stories and history about Jeju Island along the way 🥹. I’m still so grateful for that! #TravelBits #OffTheBeatenPath #TravelDiary #TravelGuide #WeekendGetaway #BudgetTravel #Korea #JejuIsland #IndependentTravel #JejuTrip
