Creepies — A Casual Bistro Born from a Joke Between a Michelin

This casual wine bar was opened by the chefs behind Michelin-starred Elske, right next door. The name "Creepies" started as a playful joke between the couple, but the team loved it — so it stuck! 🥗 Peach/Tomato-Olive Yogurt Salad Sweet, tangy, and refreshing — perfect for summer. 🥗 Saucisson Sandwich Bread filled with pistachio-pork sausage, topped with crispy crust (though the crust had a bitter note — staff kindly removed it from our bill). Mustard dip was nice. 🥗 Parisian Gnocchi & Halibut Gnocchi with egg yolk and ham — tasted like carbonara but texture was awkward, neither creamy nor fluffy. Not recommended. The halibut was great though — part seared fish, part lobster-claw fish ball (friend called it "fish tofu texture") — springy and full of seafood flavor. 🥗 Butterscotch Custard with lemon sour cream Reminded me of Pocky sticks dipped in tangy cream — rich yet bright, with gentle acidity that highlights the dairy notes. Overall, a lovable little spot — different from Elske but carries its accessible charm. Will definitely return. P.S. Grab some Creepies stickers at the reception desk as souvenirs! P.P.S. There's a fork-shaped imprint on the sidewalk outside — maybe the owners' doing? So cute 🍴😊. 📍 Creepies 1360 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60607 #Creepies #ChicagoEats #CasualBistro #MichelinChef #WineBar #HiddenGem #ChicagoFoodie
