Dallas | 🌳🌴Great Hiking Spots for the Weekend

Today, I finally visited a park that I had saved for two years. It seemed like not many people had been there, according to Xiaohongshu. But it has a large lake and a waterfall, and the water is quite clear. The trail is also quite challenging. Marion Samson Park 2501 Roberts Cut Off Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76114 🚗It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Allen. 👢I recommend downloading the AllTrails app. Each trail is a little over two miles, with many forks in the road. We followed the Lone Wolf trail, which circles the lake. All the trails on the app are rated as moderate in difficulty. They are not paved and are mostly made of gravel. There are several steep sections (where the steepness makes it hard to see the end of the path), and you might need to use your hands and feet in some places. Trekking poles are definitely necessary. We are not fitness enthusiasts, so we didn't complete the entire trail. If you can get down to the water's edge, the scenery is quite nice (see photos one and four). It's perfect for letting energetic kids run around. 🏜️There is plenty of shade, so it's not too hot. Overall, it's suitable for people with some outdoor experience. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and watch out for mosquitoes. Cedar Ridge Preserve. This is in Dallas, and it's also about a 45-minute drive from my home. I think this place is best for office workers who want to breathe some fresh air on the weekends. I've been there several times. It's well-developed, has some elevation changes, and is more populated. You won't feel lonely in the forest. Last week, I walked the longest trail there, which was 1.9 miles. The entire trail is shaded, with good air quality—it's like a forest oxygen bar. The only downside is that the pond is quite small, not as impressive as the waterfall and large lake at Marion Samson Park. 🤠After the hike, I visited Cafe Mandu, a Nepalese snack place that I really like. Although the prices have gone up compared to three years ago, the taste is still the same. I discovered fried mushroom skewers, which were delicious. That's all. I hope my newly discovered Marion Samson Park will be liked by fellow hiking enthusiasts. #DallasLife #AroundDallas #DallasWeekend
