Dallas Food Exploration: Japanese Restaurant
🤝Shoji Sushi & Hibachi Located in a plaza in Frisco, this small shop was a pleasant surprise. We walked in and sat at the bar, which made it very convenient to watch the chefs prepare our food. The sashimi was freshly sliced right in front of us. ✈️Sashimi We ordered a variety of sashimi, which came as a platter. The shrimp wasn't the sweet kind; it had a slightly thick texture and wasn't particularly enjoyable. The salmon, however, was fresh and delicious, meeting all the criteria for a good sashimi. The salmon roe was also decent, with a normal flavor. 🧭Shrimp Tempura This was pretty good. The shrimp head and body were fried separately. The sauce was tasty, but I personally felt the batter on the shrimp body was a bit thick. Still, it was enjoyable, and the shrimp remained fresh after frying. It's worth a try. Main Event❗️❗️❗️ Soft Shell Crab Tempura After finishing the first one, I ordered another because it was so good. It almost matched the soft shell crab I had in Hawaii. They made it into a crab cake with crab sticks in the middle, sandwiched between two soft shell crabs, and served with a delicious sauce. It was very fragrant. The staff were all Korean. I asked them about the Korean restaurant next door, Mama's Kitchen, and they said it was delicious. They recommended the army stew. I'll have to try it next time I'm back in Dallas. #Tempura #JapaneseCuisine #FoodExploration #GlobalFoodieSquad
