Day Trip from Montreal to Burlington, USA 🚗

Day Trip from Montreal to Burlington, USA 🚗 Got my US visa last Thursday, and couldn’t wait to use it—booked a Saturday trip to Burlington right away. Nothing beats that fresh visa excitement~ ✨ The border crossing was a bit nerve-wracking but smooth! The GPS took us to Highgate Springs, a big border checkpoint. We arrived around 10:30 AM, not too much traffic, and waited about 30 minutes. Since it was our first entry, we had to get out to scan fingerprints, and were asked lots of questions—had to write down some personal info on paper📝. The officer compared it with the DS160 form, super serious the whole time but not unkind. Though a Spanish-speaking couple next to us had to hand over their phones for checks on messages and photos… that made me a little anxious😮 By the time we got through, it was 12:30 PM—starving! Headed straight to Grand Buffet, a Chinese buffet run by Fujianese folks. The food was authentically Chinese, and the price was amazing💰! Not crowded at all, we sat right down and grabbed food immediately—no waiting, perfect for our growling stomachs~ Chowed down and felt totally recharged!😋 Next stop: Church Street Market, a cute little shopping street. Lucky timing—Hatley was having a 50% off sale! Bought a jacket for my daughter, and there was no tax—way cheaper than in Canada, such a steal~ 🛍️ Popped into Ben&Jerry’s after, and the kids were over the moon with their ice cream cones—pure joy~ 🍦 Planned to hit the teddy bear factory and Costco, but forgot they close early on weekends—total bummer😂! But serendipity struck: we stumbled on the first day of the annual Champlain Valley Expo Fair! It’s just a small carnival🎡, but packed with people and energy—carnival games, food stalls, a carousel… we had so much fun we lost track of time~ Left around 8 PM, and re-entering Canada was a breeze—the border officer asked a couple quick questions and let us through. Tired but happy, our first US day trip was a success!🥳 #Montreal#CanadianLife#ThisTemplateIsUseful#MontrealFoodAndFun
