This is a nice walking street in the heart of downtown Burlington. You can come here, park at one of the nearby garages, and have a great time, but there are a few things you should be mindful of. This is the middle of a city, and just like every US city there can be some bad people around - just be observant because at times there are some pretty sketchy people walking around, and many times in big groups. This is obviously more noticeable the later in the day in the visit. There are some homeless people begging on this street as well - not a whole lot, but some do try to call out to you and say weird things (today someone was yelling to me if I wanted to see them dislocate their arm…?), so if you’re bringing your kid here, keep them pretty close to you to be extra careful. The whole street and shops themselves are very nice and charming if you look past the two things I mentioned above. Parking is great, especially on Sunday where one of the nearby garages has free parking all day! There are tons of great home goods stores, gift shops, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, clothing stores, cosmetic stores, and more! You essentially have everything in a 3-4 block diameter in the Church Street area. Some of the best restaurants in Vermont are right next to/along this street, and a few blocks in any direction, you’ll find even more things to do. If you’re spending the day in Burlington, come here, visit ECHO Aquarium if you have kids, go down to the lakeshore, maybe rent a boat, ride bikes along Colchester Causeway, visit the Shelburne Museum, try a Montreal spice bagel, and many more! Downtown Burlington is lots of fun!

This is one of my favorite places that I visited on a fall trip. Picturesque, clean, friendly people all around in every shop I visited. Well done, Vermont, you became one of my favorite states for those reasons! 👏🏻❤️ Browsing this area is peaceful and there is much to do. There are various options for food, but I would recommend the Skinny Pancake!!!! Their crepes and coffee are a must! There are various places for souvenirs for all types of wants. You can find clothing, ornaments, jewelry, and many other unique things to take back home. I chose some ornaments, chocolate and jewelry. I loved looking at the murals displayed around town. You definitely get a sense of welcome as you are walking around this market place. The best time to visit is the middle of the day during the week when it is less crowded. A great way to wind the day down would be to visit one of the many breweries for a delicious drink. There are many to choose from! If you aren’t sure, there is always someone happy to offer you a suggestion. Coming here at sunset to see the views on the water are also a must do in the area. They have great big swings to relax in as the day is coming to a close! ❤️🍁

Church Street (and Burlington in general) is wrapped up in all sorts of emotions for me, both positive and negative. Having spent my high school, college and some adult time here, I have lots of memories- honestly, too many memories. It is hard to see anything or go anywhere and not have some kind of personal history. And the many changes to the city over the last 30+ years adds another layer of emotions. Burlington has all of its hip (-ster) charm and college friendly vibe made more appealing to the tourist masses with the addition of many chic (chain) stores and trendy restaurants. Almost daily there are special events on and around the Street: festivals of all sorts. The weekly farmer's market is filled with all natural fancy stuff, hand made fancy stuff and fancy people talking about, tasting and buying fancy stuff. So, if you love to shop and eat and spend money and engage in mindless banter with other elite consumers of the liberal dream... come to Church Street- Burlington, Vermont. Enjoy.

A bit of an art deco inspired dream, the main throughway of Burlington, VT offers loads of privately-owned shops that cater to almost every desire. From fashions to ice cream to pubs and eateries. Live music plays here quite frequently and can be heard droning up and down the street. There are usually many people during the busy hours, but not enough to feel uncomfortable. One end of the street hold the beautiful church the street is so named for, while the other end holds the main government buildings. There is a slope to it when you head toward the government side of things, but not terribly bad, even for a big guy with crotchety knees. But the art is mainly why I enjoyed it so much, as much of it is inspired and inspiring. While in Burlington, you'd be remiss if you didn't visit this amazing place!

This is the most touristy spot in Burlington. It’s a walkway pavement that spans over five to six blocks, with excellent options for dining and shopping. Alongside some of the popular restaurants, they also have iconic Vermont brand stores like Vermont Bear Factory, Vermont Flannel Shop and Ben & Jerry. We also visited a Patagonia store, a bookstore, Catamount store for apparel and gifts, and bunch of other stores. Prices are decent, some stores have sales and discounts. It appeared decently safe, though there were some homeless people around the marketplace. The street parkings need to be paid with ParkMobile app during the posted hours. There are several hotels only few minutes walk from this place. There’s also a parking lot nearby that offers 2 hours of free parking.

I've always loved downtown Burlington, especially in winter. There's nothing more magical than shopping the cobblestone promenade with a frenzy of fluffy snowflakes. Add the holidays and lights, and the charm factor doubles. There's a good variety of clothing, foods, and curious odds and ends from start to finish. Watch out for cars, because it's easy to get lost in the sights and wander into the crosswalks. With plenty of photo-ops, keep your phone handy...and if you're patient enough, one of Burlington's imposing copmobiles will FINALLY move to a parking spot or HQ, and give you that wide street photo you waited 2 hours for! Seriously...get them a reserved parking spot on the street, Burlington City Commission, and get them off the pedestrian way.
