😋 DC Food Recommendations
While going through my photos, I suddenly started missing all the amazing food I had in DC back in May! Picked 3 favorites to share: 🦀 Old Ebbitt Grill 📍 675 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005 (near the White House) Every dish was absolutely incredible—no disappointments! You can order with confidence. What I tried: Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Shrimp Spaghettini, Crab & Artichoke Dip, Caesar Salad, Georges Bank Scallops, Clam Chowder, Butterscotch Blondie Sundae Highly recommend the Shrimp Spaghettini and Crab & Artichoke Dip! ❗ Make sure to reserve ahead—it’s always packed. 🍚 Hunan Dynasty – Chinese Cuisine 📍 215 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20003 (near the Library of Congress) So good that I wanted to go back for a second meal right away! As someone who’s been in the U.S. for a while, I rarely get to enjoy a whole fresh fish—their steamed fish with chopped chili was delicious! Highly recommend! (It might not be on the menu—was a special that day.) The dry-fried green beans, Tianjin steamed buns, and pea shoots were also super tasty! Especially the green beans—unexpectedly amazing! Ate until I was completely stuffed 😅 The Peking duck was just okay—pretty standard. 🦐 JALEO – Spanish Restaurant 📍 480 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20004 Absolutely loved the menu and the restaurant’s color scheme—so beautiful! Highly recommend: Setas de temporada salteadas con huevo a baja temperatura (sautéed mushrooms with potato purée and soft egg)—I basically went there just for this! Also ordered: fried calamari, Arroz a banda con gambas (Spanish seafood rice) Personally, I’m not a huge fan of semi-cooked rice, so the paella wasn’t really my thing. For dessert: Tarta de queso vasca (Basque cheesecake) and Arroz con Leche (rice pudding) 🍮 #DCfood #WashingtonDCeats #ShanghaiLounge #ChineseFood #AuthenticChinese
