Thank you so much for making me wait over 2 hours to still not even have my food ready. I wanted Chinese on Christmas so I knew it would be busy, but this place was a disaster. Placed an order on THEIR website (trying to save them money and cut out the third party) at 6:12pm. I was told my order would be confirmed via email. I checked my email for over 40 minutes and called multiple times to receive only a busy tone thinking surely they are closed. Start looking to order from elsewhere when finally at 7:02 I receive confirmation but with no pick up time or estimate (I chose ASAP.) I took my time heading over there and got there around 7:20. The place was packed with angry Uber eats drivers who were losing money and had been apparently waiting hours for the orders they had to deliver. I agreed that a wait is understandable but fine. Waited until 8:35 when finally I tried calling again since the staff were ignoring anyone waiting inside. I was told their “system crashed” and my order wasn’t placed until 7:45, so it would still be another hour, to which the person answering the phone laughed at (pushing dinner until at least 9:30pm.) What an incompetent restaurant- I canceled my order and they made no attempt to remedy this situation. Go elsewhere if you actually want to have your food in the same evening you order it.
Update- they still had the nerve to charge my credit card despite my calling and...
Read moreHuman dynasty is one of those dual restaurant that cater both to non-chinese that knows absolutely nothing of Chinese food except Americanized dishes and actual Chinese. However you cannot fault them for doing so as its proximity to the Capitol building. It's the default Chinese restaurant for people working close by. Btw there is a section of Chinese dish in the menu that caters to Chinese customers and they label them to be "authentic" Chinese dish. This place catered to many "celebrity" politicians as you can see from the photos.
The restaurant has a tiny door that leads to upstairs space that's surprisingly roomy.
The problem with a dual restaurant like this however is that they cannot predict the clienteles so you won't be getting fresh ingredients if you are a picky Chinese customer like me. For example the frogs they use are frozen frog legs which means they are basically tasteless and not fresh.
The better idea is to order basic meat such as lamb, beef or pork but not fish nor frogs.
The Peking duck is misleading as the photos show very authentic cuts but in reality it's basically wrong including using tortillas for wrap which I hate. Just use real wraps even if you don't know how to properly roast Peking duck. Of course it's a good place to go if you miss Peking duck and the price is not bad.
I do like the services as it's attentive and I like the people...
Read moreThis place was not good at all, I went there after a walk around DC. I was hoping to experience a nice calm and delicious environment, but I was greeted with racism, lack of service, and inedible servings. We ordered food and when the food came, the waitress seemed too uninterested to even acknowledge that we were there. She dropped the food straight on the table and walked off. After we tasted the food (which we did not even eat after one bite), we decided to still show our mannerism and quietly asked for the check. They billed us a tip that they themselves inserted onto the bill, when we confronted them about it, they shows attitude and unprofessional behavior. They told us that we should not come to eat if we can’t afford to or if we can’t have decent manner ( they told us to go back to our country and that we don’t understand the rules of the place. Which is hypocritical and we cannot be blamed for the pay of waitresses. We paid what we had since we didn’t wanna escalate the situation. We would have paid that extra bit if there was good service and good food (which there wasn’t). I do not recommend people of color to eat at that restaurant since I have read reviews that also agree that they treat people of color differently. The spring roles were...
