Do People Who Recommend This Feel No Guilt? 😅
Minghin Cuisine (Streeterville) Dim sum was almost a complete miss: 🥟 Chive dumplings – Wrappers soggy, no chew. 🥚 Salted egg yolk buns – Strong eggy 🍖 Char siu puff pastry – Crumbly crust, filling too sweet, no roast pork aroma. 🍰 Ma lai cake – Coarse and dry. 🦪 Oysters with black bean sauce was the worst — I found a piece of rope in mine. The server glanced and said, “It’s from tying the oysters, sorry.” Offered to remake it — I said no thanks 😵💫 Oysters were sandy — my partner spit them out into a tea cup. Vermicelli was dry and tough, black beans overly salty — would never order again 👋🏻 They later sent two steamed scallops as an apology… But the kitchen didn’t detach the scallops from the shell, so the meat stuck badly and was hard to scrape off. Vermicelli was still dry. The only edible dish was the steamed marble goby — fish was tender, though lightly seasoned. But why the obsession with bell peppers?? 🫑 I specifically said no peppers on the oysters and scallops, yet the fish was covered in them. The final straw: both of us had diarrhea that night 💩 #FoodFail #ChicagoRestaurants #StudentEats #FoodieFinds #ChineseFoodChicago
