Don’t Forget to Visit Greenville After Watching
I happened to have a meeting in this small town, and it’s just a 1-hour drive from South Carolina’s mountain-top chapel. I didn’t know much about it before arriving, but it turned out to be perfect for a Citywalk! Recommended Restaurant SUSHI GO Address: 247 N Main St, Greenville, SC 29601 It’s not the heavy, Americanized sushi—this place serves more authentic Japanese-style sushi with excellent quality. Their lunch menu has set meals that are great value for money; the whole meal I had (as pictured) only cost $50 🍣. Near the Restaurant Facing the restaurant, turn right and you’ll find a cherry blossom street—it’s in full bloom right now! After watching the sunrise, you can stop by here for photos 🌸. Turn left, and you’ll hit a well-developed commercial street. It’s clean and tidy, with no marijuana smell or homeless people (not sure about nighttime, though). The vibe is super relaxed, and there are plenty of boutique shops to browse. You can wander, stop for snacks, and spend about an hour here. There’s even a four-sided clock that looks just like the one at New York’s Grand Central Terminal ⏰! Highly Recommended Ice Cream River Street Sweets Address: 12 S Main St, Greenville, SC 29601 It’s a candy and chocolate shop, but their ice cream is a standout! I chose two flavors recommended by the uncle at the counter: butter and mint—and they were amazing 😋. The best part? It’s not too sweet, with a super creamy texture, plus nuts and chocolate chips mixed in. Pro tip: They offer free samples—taste before you buy! (P.S. There are lots of ice cream shops on this street; I haven’t tried them all yet.) A Few “Meh” Spots (Based on Personal Taste) Just to save you a trip—these places have high Google ratings but didn’t impress me: Menkoi Noodle House: Not very tasty. The udon is slightly better than the ramen 🍜. Basil Thai Cuisine (Greenville, SC): The flavor is okay, but it’s not as good as traditional pho. Their stir-fried noodles are way too sweet 🍜. Cantina 76: They serve something similar to beef crepes. If you love cheese, you might like it, but it’s a bit greasy—definitely share one with a friend. Their tacos are actually good, though 🌮. #NorthAmericaLife #ExchangingSpringVibes #SouthCarolina #SCMountainChapel #SCFood #Greenville #CherryBlossoms #NorthAmericaCherryBlossoms #TheJoyOfWandering #GoodMoodFromCasualWalks
