Eating Around Evanston, Near Chicago 🍽️
1️⃣ Alcove - Evanston Very refined—none of the dishes we ordered disappointed! 🐙 The octopus and filet were cooked perfectly, ingredients were fresh. Overall, above average! 2️⃣ Trattoria Demi High value and delicious Italian! 🍝 Rich sauces, amazing aroma, well-balanced seasoning. My mom and I both loved it—will definitely return. Portions are huge, we even took some home! 3️⃣ NaKorn Urban Thai Creative Thai cuisine—dishes are small (except noodles) but tastier than expected! Each has unique flair. You can order blindly with confidence 🌶️🍛. 4️⃣ Tapas Barcelona Standard tapas spot—nothing bad, but nothing super memorable either. 5️⃣ Shinsen The black sushi roll was creative and tasty! 🍣 Tom Yum ramen was just okay—noodles weren’t flavorful enough. Yakitori was pretty good though! 6️⃣ Joy Yee Noodle Great for big portions and value, but the fried squid was too tough 🦑, and the eel had a pre-made taste. Beef bone soup was fragrant but too sweet. Appetizer platter was fine. 7️⃣ Zentli The dish above (forgot the name 😅) was crispy, fragrant, and generously filled—so good! 🌮 The pork tacos below had an odd flavor, not as tasty as La Cocinita’s. 8️⃣ Lao Sze Chuan So happy to find grilled fish here! 🐟 Well-fried with great seasoning, though the fish was small. The sago dessert was unexpectedly huge—could serve 5–6 small bowls! 🍧 #EvanstonEats #ChicagoAreaFood #FoodieAdventure #ItalianFood #ThaiFood #TapasTime
