Egypt Free & Easy Travel Guide — Day 2 in Aswan 🏜️

Train Station → Elephantine Island Homestay → Unfinished Obelisk → Philae Temple → Lunch → Park → Nile Felucca Ride ⛵ On July 6th, we arrived at Aswan Railway Station around 11 AM 🚉. Took a taxi to the agreed pier — be careful to distinguish between: KFC Pier (where feluccas usually depart) 🚤 Homestay pickup pier (confirm in advance if you need to arrange your own boat 🏠) After dropping our luggage, our first stop was the Unfinished Obelisk 🗿. Not recommended at noon — extremely hot! ☀️ Watch out for “helpful” staff who may ask for tips after taking photos for you 🚫📸. The only advantage: almost no tourists — great for photos! Next, we took a taxi to Philae Temple. ⚠️ Big scam alert after buying tickets! Boatmen often overcharge since tourists won’t give up after purchasing entry tickets 🎫💢. Our solution: Gather other Chinese tourists and negotiate a fair price with the tourist police at the security office 👮♂️🤝. Apart from the boat issue, the temple itself is highly recommended! After the temple, we had lunch 🥘 and tried to go supermarket shopping 🛒 — but it was closed 😅. Instead, we visited a nearby park 🌳 which offered beautiful views of the Nile — a perfect place to relax! ⛵️ Felucca Ride Tips: Book in advance and confirm the price (300–400 EGP/hour 💵). Board at KFC Pier about 1 hour before sunset 🌄 — perfect light for a Nile cruise! Stay cool in the heat 🥵🧊, keep a positive attitude, and don’t hesitate to stand up against unfair treatment!
