Elizabeth — Spring Visit to a Chicago Michelin-Starred Favorite
Elizabeth’s all-vegetarian menu is finally over, and as a meat lover, I rushed back to try the spring lineup. 🥧 Artichoke quinoa tart with wild garlic flatbread — not an artichoke fan, but loved the warm, toasty bread. 🦐 Blue shrimp with fried shrimp head — the head was crispy and fragrant; the shrimp rested in a light, clean broth. 🌮 Celery taco with pickled pineapple — the “shell” was tofu skin (like crispy bean curd roll texture). 🥔 Upgrade: potato pancake with caviar — the sour cream overpowered the caviar; not worth the add-on. 🍚 White asparagus “risotto” — creamy and satisfying. 🐮 Beef heart ragù with grandma’s focaccia — ragù felt better suited to pasta; with bread, it was dry and salty. 🧠 Sweetbreads with morels — best dish of the night — tender, rich, and left me wanting more. 🐦 Fried quail “lollipops” — fun to eat, juicy inside, no mess. 🍰 Desserts (not pictured) were just okay. Will return when the menu changes again! Elizabeth Restaurant: 4835 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625 #ChicagoEats #MichelinStar #Elizabeth #SpringMenu #ChicagoFoodie #LincolnSquare
