Elly’s Pancake House — The Cute Dutch Baby 🥞
Took my mom on a weekend drive to the suburbs, hoping to avoid the downtown brunch rush — found this breakfast spot with solid reviews. Turns out it’s a small chain in AZ and IL, so we went for it! 🥞 Dutch Baby Pancake (2–4 person size) – Their specialty! Lighter than regular pancakes, with a lemony-sugar flavor — not overly sweet. ⚠️ Takes about 30 minutes to prepare, and the server announces it loudly when serving — shy folks beware! 🥞 Denver Omelette with Hash Browns – Simple but tasty: ham, bell peppers, onions. They have fancier loaded versions, but this classic hit the spot. 🥞 Classic Waffle (strawberry + blueberry + banana + walnuts + whipped cream) – Pretty ordinary. Pancake mix lacked flavor — not recommended. 🥞 Plain Pancakes with Maple Syrup – Also just okay. Good value for the price, but not as good as Janik’s Cafe (which I’ve recommended before). Verdict: Worth trying their signature Dutch Baby if you’re nearby, but not worth a special trip just for it. 📍 Elly’s Pancake House 5050 N Cumberland Ave, Norridge, IL 60706 #BrunchTime #DutchBaby #ChicagoSuburbs #BreakfastVibes #PancakeLove #ChicagoEats
