Evanston Spanish Restaurant Recommendation – Tapas Barcelona 🇪🇸✨

So delicious! Great drinks too! It’s been a while since I enjoyed a Western meal this much… The restaurant calls itself a "festive, warm space for Spanish small plates, adorned with colorful modern art and posters"—and that’s pretty accurate! We ordered 6 tapas for two: asparagus avocado salad, beetroot salad, potato salad, grilled squid, whisky-glazed chicken breast, and seafood pasta. Except for the pasta being a bit salty, everything was tasty! If the menu looks tricky (like it did for me), try Google Scan & Translate. My favorite was the grilled squid—tender with a smoky char, served with a lemony cream sauce. So good! My partner loved the beetroot salad and seafood pasta—he enjoys fresh textures and salty flavors. Their sangria is the best I’ve had—not too sweet, nicely boozy, and made with decent wine. Could easily down two glasses in summer 🍹. Service was excellent—friendly and attentive. They have indoor and outdoor seating—next time I’d love to sit outside with a drink in the breeze. After 6 tapas, we were stuffed. Next time, maybe 5 tapas + a dessert. 🚪 Address: 1615 Chicago Ave, Evanston, IL 60201 🚗 Parking: Metered street parking ($2/hour). For free parking, try the Whole Foods rooftop lot nearby. ⏰ Hours: 5–9 PM (lunch available Fri–Sun) 💰 Cost: ~$45 per person (incl. tax & tip) After coming to Chicago and finding reasonably priced, delicious food, I’m starting to miss Shanghai a little less. Everyone told me Chicago has amazing food—and yeah, it’s true! 😋 #EvanstonEats #SpanishFood #TapasLove #ChicagoFoodie #SangriaTime #DateNightSpot
