Finally Tried Houston’s Newly Opened Restaurant 🔎 Honest Review

I’ve been wanting to try this new restaurant since last week, but it was too far away, so I put it off. Later, I saw so many people recommending it, saying the food was great, so this week I made the effort to drive over. The restaurant isn’t in Chinatown—it’s actually closer to the Galleria. I originally came for the grilled fish, but coincidentally, it was sold out on the day I visited… 🦆 Spicy Duck Hot Pot: I’ve seen this dish all over social media but never had the chance to try it since I haven’t been back to China. I didn’t expect Houston to have it now! This was my first time trying it, so I’m not sure what the authentic version tastes like. I ordered medium spice, and it came in a huge portion—seriously, the serving was massive. I felt the spice level was just right, but it could have been saltier, and the side ingredients weren’t very flavorful. Overall, it was tasty, and the generous portion made it satisfying! 🐟 Sichuan Pepper Crispy Fish: The fish slices were crispy and tender, with a nice numbing spice flavor. It was delicious, though the portion of fish felt a bit small compared to the generous amount of vegetables. 🥗 Mashed Eggplant with Century Egg and Chili: This cold dish was amazing! Personally, I highly recommend it—I loved it! 🍲 Dry Pot Pork Intestine: The dry pot dishes seem to be a solid choice here. The server recommended the dry pot chicken wings, but since I’d eaten a lot of wings the day before, I skipped them. The dry pot series probably all have a similar flavor profile. I’ll definitely come back to try the grilled fish next time—hopefully, it won’t be sold out so early! 📍 Flaming Flare 5757 Westheimer Rd Suite 114, Houston, TX 77057 #100DaysOfFoodExploration #HoustonFood #SichuanCuisine
