The food is well done, but as others have noted the speed of food coming out varies. I got one dish quite quickly and the second a bit of a wait later.
The service was otherwise good, no wait to be seated or order, and they were appropriately attentive. They were apologetic and proactive about the late dish, and since they’re just getting started,it’s quite understandable.
I ordered their crispy shrimp (香辣虾) and chili oil dumplings (红油抄手).
The shrimp were very well made, nicely spicy with typical Szechuan seasoning. They did come with a lot of cilantro, so if you don’t like cilantro you will want to specify to hold the cilantro (the fried coating holds the aromatic flavor so the shrimp have some cilantro flavor even if you don’t eat the cilantro directly).
The dumplings were good, the sauce was a touch bitter for me, but I am American and like the sauce a little on the sweet side (similar to how Mala does it). 🤣 The dumplings were folded so that the ends overlap, making it much easier to pick them up with chopsticks alone. The thickness of the wrapper was perfect and the filling...
Read moreA new Sichuan style Chinese restaurant open in the Galleria area, that severs authentic Chinese food in an area where it lacks a restaurant like this. My family and I come in for lunch and the service was a little slow since they just opened not to long ago, I hope it will improve in time. But the food was good and it was pretty busy with most of the costumer are Chinese people here. The decorations is minimal. Our service was just OK, we saw other table got their food before us, even though we were there first so we got a manager and find the problem and result it for us and a lot of food was sold out. So we ordered another dish but it never came out and it turn out they didn't make it so we cancel that dish and pay and leave. I have come back again in the future when they figure out their...
Read moreThe food is okay, flavorful but can be too flavorful for some. The service is on the other hand among the worst I’ve received. As other reviews complained about, everything had been slow. We had to wait ~10min before allowed to order, which might be even longer if we didn’t complain about it. And unlike how other people seemed to be treated, there were no apologies or snacks what so ever. We were just left there with water the entire time while waiting. On top of that, when we asked the server how come another table of guests who arrived after us could order but we still needed to wait, she told us to our face that they are influencers and were invited here for free lunch, so they have privileges over us. Okay we get it. We will never come back as we are...
