Florida｜Gainesville｜Mexican🇲🇽 Restaurant Review

For my first meal in Gainesville, I picked a Mexican spot downtown with a 4.4🌟 Google rating — Boca Fiesta. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior has that classic American tavern vibe with dim lighting💡. The outdoor area is more spacious, with wooden tables and plenty of greens🌿, giving off a relaxed atmosphere. My friend and I ordered 1 burrito, 2 tacos, 1 specialty dish, and 2 drinks. We were totally full, and it came out to less than $50 for both. 🌮 Fish Taco: 2.5🌟 Pretty average—decent but not memorable. A little spicy, but nothing special. Portion wasn’t huge either, so not the best value. 🌮 Beef Taco: 3🌟 Made with ground beef. The portion was generous and good for the price. Flavor was okay—again, nothing standout. 🌯 Pork Burrito: 2.5🌟 Lots of meat, so good value. The flavor wasn’t bad—it just wasn’t my style. The black beans were overpowering, and the rice inside was pretty bland. Maybe not enough sauce or veggies… overall a bit dry. 🧀 Fiesta Shrimp Quesadilla: 4.5🌟 $13.50. One of their signature dishes—really tasty! If you’re familiar with Mexican food, you know a quesadilla is made with two tortillas filled with meat, veggies, cheese, and sauce, then grilled till crispy. Their shrimp was super fresh and bouncy🦐, and the tortilla was perfectly golden and crunchy. The flavor was spicy🌶️ and went great with the melted cheese and sour cream. It came with a homemade dipping sauce—spicy, tangy, probably made with Mexican hot sauce, sour cream, and cilantro—which balanced the richness perfectly. 🍺 Drinks: 4.5🌟 My friend got the IPA on draft—hoppy, well-balanced, really good. I had the High Noon Pineapple🍍—refreshing and delicious. Overall, I give this place a 3.8🌟 Nice vibe, decent food, fairly priced especially for downtown. Good for a casual bite. I’d recommend sticking to their specialty dishes to avoid disappointment.
