Food | What I Ate During a Blackpink-Themed Weekend in Chicago ๐๐ฝ๏ธ
๐ Kyuramen x TBaar (Downtown) First time trying omurice โ pretty ordinary, maybe because I'm a meat lover ๐ฅฉ. A bit salty, nothing special. ๐ Nonnina (Downtown) Wanted to try the popular Volare but it needed reservations. Went here instead โ an โold-school Italian grandmaโ style spot ๐ง๐ฎ๐น. The fried seafood platter was super fresh (and I usually canโt tell freshness lol). All the handmade pastas were delicious too! ๐ฐ Match En (Chinatown) Only the mille crepe was worth it ๐ฅ. The soufflรฉ was a letdown โ dry and tasted pre-made. Swiss roll was just okay, also a bit dry. But at least everything wasnโt too sweet ๐๐ป. ๐ฅ Brรผ (Downtown) Ordered one sweet + one savory dish, mango smoothie ๐ฅญ, and strawberry mango latte ๐ โ all made with fresh fruit, not overly sweet. My friend said the savory one tasted like a jianbing (Chinese crepe) ๐. ๐น๐ญ Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food Loved it! The signature Pad Thai was better than expected โ sweet & tangy, perfect for sweet-tooth lovers ๐. Tiger Cry Beef ๐ฏ๐ข โ so tender, highly recommend! Mango Sticky Rice ๐ฅญ was okay but got a bit rich toward the end. The crispy pork belly rice (forgot the name) was tough and chewy โ even at the mildest spice level, it was still spicy ๐ถ๏ธ. Maybe we were already full when we added it, so we didnโt fully appreciate it ๐ค. #ChicagoEats #BPinChicago #WeekendFoodDiary #ChicagoFoodie #ThaiFood #ItalianFood
