Food Diary | Le Séjour in Nice

When in France, you’ve gotta try some Michelin! I couldn’t get a reservation at the local Michelin-starred restaurant, but luckily, I managed to book a dinner at Le Séjour on my last day in Nice. The menu changes daily, so there’s a bit of luck involved in whether you’ll enjoy the dishes. Menu experience on 4/24: 🍴 **Starter - Crab Soup**: Very unique! Served with crispy slices of toasted baguette, and dipping the pre-meal baguette into it was also quite nice. 🥣 🍴 **Starter - Tuna Tartare**: Delicious! The dressing is a bit like the sauce you’d have with beef, which is quite special and really hits the spot. 🍔 🍴 **Main Course - Sea Bass**: The fish is fresh and not fishy at all, which is great. I also had artichoke, which has a magical texture and flavor. After eating the artichoke, everything else tastes even better! But by the end, it got a bit heavy. 🐟 🍴 **Main Course - Beef Tartare**: Tastes amazing at first! It’s refreshing and the meat is top-notch. But halfway through, I felt like I was forcing myself to mix the sesame oil with the beef, and it started to get a bit too rich. I pushed through and finished it, though... 🥩 🍴 **Dessert - Soufflé & Fruit Tart**: The soufflé is super sweet!!!! The candied orange peel with a hint of alcohol is good, but overall, it’s just too sweet!!!! The mango and citrus dessert, however, is great. The whipped cream on top is light, with a layer of fruit jam and mango chunks in the middle, and a meringue base. I really liked it, and the sweet and sour flavors perfectly balanced out the richness of the beef tartare (I liked it more than the soufflé). 🍰 🍴 **Wine Pairing**: I went with the waiter’s recommendation of a dry Moscato, which paired really well with the seafood and other rich dishes. 🍷 🍴 **Total Cost**: 72 euros per person. Reservations are a must, and during the meal, there were at least 2-3 tables waiting for a turn. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it’s not quite at the level of being widely recommended on social media or a “must-try” in Nice. Of course, that’s partly because of the dishes I chose. For me, it’s the kind of place where, if I come to Nice again and have other options, I’d probably try something else, but if I’m unsure where to go, I’d definitely consider giving their new daily menu a try. #NiceRestaurants #Nice #NiceTravel #SouthofFranceNice #NiceMichelin #MichelinRecommended #SouthofFranceTravel #SouthofFranceVacation #FoodDiary #DeliciousFood
