Food Map from Marseille
All are wonderful places full of human kindness 😌😌 P1-P2:📍 1860 Le Palais My first meal upon arriving in Marseille—I just wanted a bowl of bouillabaisse. Passing by the Old Port, this place looked good. The appetizers were even more delightful, and the fish soup and dessert were also nice 👌 P3-P4:📍 Petrin Couchette Stopped by to take shelter from the rain. The cute storefront is perfect for sitting in the square and soaking up the sun (provided the sun is out 😅) P5-P6:📍 Le Clan des cigales A very welcoming family-style bistro run by just two men—the owner and the chef. Their signature Aioli was so good I even finished all the vegetables. The dessert was adorable, and paired with ice cream and cream, it was very refreshing 😋 P7-P8:📍 La Madeleine du Panier Next to the previous restaurant. Ordered a pistachio-flavored madeleine based on the ,but the cookie called "Petit Marseille" was surprisingly amazing 🤩 P9-P10:📍 Le Bar à Pain MARSEILLE An organic bakery attracted by its name. The interior is even more storybook-like. Bought a brioche for breakfast 😊 P11-P12:📍 House of Pain Highly recommend the Napoleon! The pastry has the perfect crispy aroma, and the custard is not at all cloying—soft and glutinous. Taking a bite makes life feel complete 🥹 (Also tempted by their flan). After shopping for vintage items in this area, you must have a sweet treat 🫶 P13-P14:📍 Si Par Azar Probably the most exquisite chai latte I’ve ever had. Starting with brewing your own tea, the ingredients are generous. It was a bit spicy, but still delicious. The interior is really cool, with vintage items for sale. The decorations show the owner’s personality—either they’re Indian or have a great love for Indian culture 😃 P15:📍 Tarlata Café A small shop I passed by accidentally. The owner is super nice. The iced latte was refreshing, and the canelé was delicious. He kindly corrected my pronunciation of "canelé," but I’ve forgotten it again 🤣 P16-P17:📍 Chez Roger A great place for seafood by the Old Port. I ordered an Irish crab because I don’t like oysters much. Seafood is delicious as long as it’s fresh—no need for excessive seasoning or cooking, after all, I’m a native of a coastal area 😊 What touched me was that I still wanted to try the famous oysters here, so I asked if I could order just one. He said of course. I asked how much it was, and he waved his hand saying it was free, then brought me two at once 🥹 So this dinner on the first day of the Lunar New Year was especially happy ☺️ After eating, you can go next door to📍 La Caravelle to drink while enjoying the view of the Old Port. They also have regular jazz live performances, perfect for a drink with friends 🫶 P18:📍 Deep Coffee Roasters A beautiful dirty coffee before leaving, plus a chocolate brioche that even had a bit of a filling—such a nice surprise 🤭 #Marseillelove#Marseillefood#FrenchCuisine #HiddenGems #FusionFood #AmateurFoodCritic #LocalEats #Marseille
