Food Recommendations in Kamloops š
Before coming to Kamloops, I didnāt have high expectations. I thought a small town with only 100,000 people, mostly white, would be a food desert. But after arriving, I was surprised to find quite a few great restaurants! Brownstone š“ This restaurant is housed in a charming standalone heritage building with a nice ambiance and great service. Last time, I tried the Brazil seafood and lambāboth were pretty good. š° Around $35 per person. Lucky Yeung š„ (a Chinese restaurant close to TRU) This place looks unremarkable from the outsideāI stumbled upon it while browsing Google Maps. But the flavors are incredibly authentic š. They excel in various regional Chinese cuisines without catering to Western tastes. Iād even say itās better than some restaurants back in China! My classmates and I go almost every weekāitās practically our canteen now. Must-tries: Mala Xiang Guo, Spicy Chicken, Singapore-style stir-fried rice noodles, and Sweet and Sour Pork. š° Around $25 per person. Arigato Sushi š± Their food is quite good, especially the tempuraācrispy yet not greasy. However, I always get an upset stomach after eating raw fish here, so be cautiousāļø š° Around $25 per person. Madras š I randomly craved curry one day and found this Indian restaurant downtown. It turned out to be pretty decent! I tried the butter chicken, and the naan bread was tasty too. š° Around $20 per person. The rest were okay but not particularly impressiveānothing Iād strongly recommend. Iāll keep exploring Kamloopsā food scene š¤£. Itās one of the few things that keeps me motivated during the winter! #StudyInCanada #ThompsonRiversUniversity #FoodRecommendations #KamloopsEats #KamloopsLife #FoodExploration
