Been here over HALF A YEAR and FINALLY had brunch in Chicago! 🤣 Saw tons of people recommending Mortar & Pestle so had to check it out! 🙌 ⭐️ FOIE GRAS AND EGGS 🦆 As a foie gras LOVER, HAD to order this! Thin omelette topped with seared foie gras, onions + mushrooms—eating it all together creates this MAGICAL flavor! 😋 Only downside? WAY too little foie gras, and by the end with all that oil, got a bit RICH 😅 ⭐️ ALASKAN KING CRAB BENEDICT 🦀 This seems to be their SIGNATURE dish! Perfectly poached eggs cut open + refreshing crab meat + muffin—personally REALLY liked this combo! 👌 ⭐️ DEVILED EGGS 🥚 Such a TASTY appetizer! The yolk has some mystery spices mixed in, placed back on the egg white—first bite was WEIRD, but the more you eat, the MORE ADDICTIVE it gets! 🤤 ⭐️ BREAKFAST FRIED RICE 🍚 Tastes like soy sauce fried rice with bacon + pork belly. Rice was a bit undercooked—personally found this just OKAY 🤷♀️ ⭐️ FRENCH TOAST 🍞 Ever since having La Republique's french toast, every OTHER french toast is just... meh.
