Found Ground Cherries in Chicago β Logan Square Farmers Market πΏ
I usually stick to my local farmers market, but this time I ventured to the Logan Square Farmers Market β and found a sweet surprise: ground cherries (also called husk cherries or cape gooseberries)! Back home, I loved these little golden gems, but Iβd never seen them in Chicago supermarkets. At the market, I finally found them β perfectly ripe and wonderfully sweet. π Of course, the market also has fresh produce, meats, eggs, spices, flowers, pet treats, coffee, pastries, and ready-to-eat options like grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken & waffles (made with organic, farm-fresh ingredients β you can really taste the difference!). Whatβs especially cool: the crowd here skews young and hipster, not just older folks. Along the marketβs edges, vendors and visitors even set up pop-up secondhand stalls β mostly clothes (not my thing), but some sell plants and succulents worth browsing. π Location: Intersection of Logan Square & Milwaukee Ave β° Hours: Sundays, 9 AM β 3 PM π Note: Next Sunday is likely the last market of the season β hurry if you want those ground cherries! #ChicagoEats #FarmersMarket #LoganSquare #GroundCherries #LocalProduce #ChicagoFoodie
