Gilt Bar | Chicago’s Vintage-Style Date Spot 🕰️
Actually referring to The Library upstairs—been here before, and it’s quieter than the main floor, perfect for a girls' night or romantic date. The menu is exactly the same as Gilt Bar’s. Every Wednesday, Resy releases reservations for The Library from Thursday to Sunday—set a notification to snag a spot! Gilt Bar’s menu is almost no-fail. Today’s Bone Marrow was too greasy—not recommended. Their pastas are solid: Vodka Rigatoni is a reliably tasty vodka sauce, Spicy Orecchiette has savory (a bit salty) pork that’s addictive, and Spicy Shrimp is delicious too.👍👌 For mains, we tried the Whole Grilled Branzino—crispy skin, tender fish, with a refreshing lemon sauce—and the Wood Roasted Chicken, which was sweet and decent but not the star. Didn’t order it today, but the Steamed Mussels are highly recommended—fresh mussels in a sauce that’s good enough to eat on its own!😘😍 Dessert-wise, the Chocolate Cream Pie was mind-blowing when I tried it during Restaurant Week two years ago. Also loved the Raspberry Sorbet—huge portion and so refreshing.💕❤️ Gilt Bar is part of the Hogsalt Hospitality group, along with Ciccio Mio and Bavette’s on the same street. I’ve tried all three, and Gilt Bar remains my favorite. The “casual dining” label on their window fits perfectly—it’s the kind of comforting, craveable “white people food” you can visit again and again. #Chicago #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodie #DateNightSpot #ChicagoRestaurants #VintageVibes 🍝
