Gilt Bar — A Cozy, Romantic Spot in Chicago’s River North 💛

Another Hogsalt gem — following my review of Trivoli Tavern, today it’s Gilt Bar. The vibe is retro-American but simpler and cozier. 🍹 Custom mocktail — the server took time to ask about my flavor preferences (even during a busy shift) and returned with a citrusy, bright alcohol-free drink. 🧀 Burrata appetizer — warm sourdough, creamy cheese, roasted tomatoes, fresh basil, and olive oil. Pure happiness on a plate. 🍝 Signature truffle rigatoni — usually served without meat, but I asked for grilled chicken breast, and they delivered. Every bite was earthy, fragrant, and deeply satisfying. 🍫 Chocolate cream pie — silky, rich, and not overly sweet. A classic done right. The lighting is moody and intentional — bright over the table (great for food photos), dim in the booths (perfect for ambiance). Great for solo post-work unwinding or a romantic date night in River North. Heard the steak is excellent too — saving that for next time.
