Girl & The Goat: A Whimsical Brunch Adventure in Chicago! 🍳✨
Today we brunched at Girl & The Goat — already the name feels perfect for a girls’ date! The restaurant is near Fulton Market and has a lovely outdoor seating area. True to its name, the place is filled with goat-themed touches 🐐. Right inside, a huge mural of a girl and a goat catches the eye — styled a bit like Gravity Falls with quirky bottle characters holding fruits and dragging cutlery. The space is bright and airy, with large windows offering a serene view of rustling leaves outside 🌿. Note: only the brunch menu is served at midday; dinner menu starts after 4:30 PM. 🐐 Next time, I’d love to try their famous Goat Empanadas from the dinner menu — a creative signature dish I’ve heard so much about! 🍽️ What We Ordered: 🍝 Pork Belly Noodles A bit of a teamwork dish since I don’t eat cilantro, and my friend isn’t into grilled pineapple 😂. We swapped accordingly! The pork belly itself was crispy outside, tender inside — flavorful and not greasy. Plenty of chili peppers too. After removing cilantro, pineapple, and peppers, there wasn’t much noodle left, but the meat portion was generous. 🍳 Yolk-onomiyaki A savory Japanese pancake made with eggs! Golden and fluffy, topped with sauce and green onions — you can really taste the creative Asian fusion here. 🍨 Coconut Labneh Parfait A refreshing yogurt bowl with a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and lightly salty flavors — loaded with fresh strawberries. So good we devoured it! 🍹 Drinks: 🥂 Mimosa Fine bubbles with a fresh fruit aroma — lightly sweet and tangy, perfect for brunch vibes. 🥂 Non7 (Non-Alcoholic) Cherry-infused cold brew coffee — surprisingly tasted like Starbucks’ Very Berry Hibiscus! 🐐 The Goat Restaurant Group Did you know there’s a whole Goat empire? Founded by award-winning chef Stephanie Izard — winner of Top Chef Season 4 and a creative powerhouse in Chicago’s dining scene. Girl & The Goat is her flagship, and the group also includes: 🐑 Little Goat Diner — Classic American diner packed with goat charm (I also had okonomiyaki there years ago — my tastes are consistent!). 🦆 Duck Duck Goat — Creative Chinese-inspired spot (though not quite authentic for Chinese palates — but I still remember their coconut pudding!). 🌟 Cabra — Peruvian-inspired rooftop restaurant (haven’t been yet, but it looks amazing — next on my list!). #Chicago #ChicagoEats #GirlAndTheGoat #BrunchGoals #CreativeCuisine #GoatGroup
