Hidden Gem Art Gallery in Rome
Rome is truly a bustling travel hub with crowded tourist spots. Visiting this art gallery was such a pleasant surprise! It’s nearly deserted, which makes it perfect for appreciating the art without the hustle and bustle. The spacious venue allows you to truly immerse yourself in the artworks. It also made up for the missed photo opportunities at the Vatican the day before (it was just too crowded). 🎨 Galleria Doria Pamphilj One of Rome’s largest private art galleries, owned by the Italian noble Doria-Pamphilj family. 🏰 The gallery is housed in the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, a palace whose history dates back to the early 16th century. It boasts an extensive collection of European paintings, sculptures, furniture, and sarcophagi. The collection includes masterpieces by Raphael, Bernini, Titian, Caravaggio, and others. The portrait of Pope Innocent X by Velázquez is particularly famous. 🖌️ The gallery is open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM, with the last admission at 6 PM. It is closed on December 25, January 1, and during Easter. 🕰️ Tickets are available directly at the entrance for €16 per person. 🎫 📍 Palazzo Doria Pamphilj Search on the map: Doria Pamphilj galerija #Europe #Rome #ArtGallery #RomanHoliday #Photos #Travel
