Hidden Gems in Vaughan: My Go-To Restaurants

Living in Vaughan for nearly two years, I've discovered that while it may be a "Chinese food desert," there are plenty of hidden culinary gems—especially when it comes to non-Asian cuisines. Here are my favorites, all worth revisiting! 🍝 Italian Cuisine Grazie Ristorante 🔹 A no-frills, classic Italian spot with hearty portions. 🔹 Must-try: Linguini Marinara – al dente pasta in a rich sauce, loaded with seafood (big enough for two meals!). 🔹 Pistachio Ricotta Cheesecake – not overly sweet like typical "white people desserts." 255 by Alta Rossa 🔹 Another generous and delicious Italian option. 🔹 Recommendations: Rabbit Pappardelle & Swalty Pizza (white cheese sauce, prosciutto, nuts, pear & truffle on charcoal-fired crust). ⚠️ Pro Tip: Always ask for tap water (still/sparkling costs extra), and double-check prices for "chef’s specials" to avoid bill shock! 🥘 Eastern European Cuisine Sarko Restaurant (Georgian) 🔸 Juicy meat skewers and cheese-stuffed khachapuri (egg-filled pastry) are highlights. Stroganoff 🔸 Kharcho Soup (now my ultimate comfort food!). 🔸 Skip the namesake beef stroganoff—other mains are much better. 🥐 Brunch & Pastries Bready ▫️ Instagram-worthy café with diverse brunch options. ▫️ Their pastries (especially the filled ones) rival Bartholomew Bakery’s! 🥗 Mediterranean Mevame (Chain, but reliable!) ▪️ Our workday lunch staple—great value during weekday lunch hours. ▪️ Even their chicken breast is shockingly juicy and flavorful, served with healthy Mediterranean-style sides. #VaughanEats #VaughanFood #Vaughan #VaughanRestaurants #TorontoFood #NorthYorkEats #TorontoItalian #TorontoDesserts #TorontoBrunch
