Houston | Thompson

Restaurant & Bar Collection A Night of Exploration in Downtown Houston 🌟✨ In one night, I managed to visit two restaurants and a rooftop bar at the Thompson Hotel. The hotel is brand new and very pet-friendly, which is a big plus. However, the valet parking can be a bit complicated. The self-pay station charges $5 per hour, while the valet rates depend on which restaurant you’re visiting: $10 for the entire night at Toca Madera, and $16 for other hotel restaurants. The overnight rate for guests is $32. [Toca Madera] 🍴 New Mexican-Style Steakhouse Since we had a late dinner reservation, my friend and I decided to stop by Toca Madera for a quick drink and some appetizers to tide us over. The cocktails here can be served with a flaming presentation, which is quite fun! There’s also live music featuring saxophone performances and lively dancing in the evenings. It’s a great spot to unwind before dinner. [Chardon] 🍴 New French Restaurant (Opened in February) The foie gras macaron here is a bit off-putting with its blue color, but the rest of the dishes are decent, though nothing particularly outstanding. The bread served before the meal is quite fragrant and delicious. [Sol 7] 🍸🍹 Rooftop Bar on the 7th Floor Located next to the pool, Sol 7 offers a stunning view of downtown Houston. April is a perfect time to visit, with comfortable weather and a gentle evening breeze. Enjoying a drink while taking in the cityscape is incredibly relaxing and chill.
