Huge Chocolate Cake at the “Wild Boar” Restaurant 🐗✨

il Porcellino Recently tried this Italian spot in Chicago — here’s my take! ✨ The decor is full of mood — lights like stars in the night sky and vintage photos/posters cover the walls (my photo didn’t do it justice 😅). It can get a bit loud inside. Happy hour menu is only available at the bar; regular tables use the standard menu. 🦑 FRIED CALAMARI Thick-cut calamari rings — some almost look like rings! The squid is tender and nicely cooked. The coating isn’t heavy — it’s light and slightly crumbly. There’s a fair amount of fried green and red pepper rings mixed in, which actually add nice flavor. Served with a crushed tomato sauce sprinkled with chili powder — pretty tasty! 🍅🌶️ 🍞 WHOLE LOAF GARLIC BREAD A house favorite — garlic butter + bread = guaranteed deliciousness. Think about it… it smells amazing! 🍝 BAKED BURRATA LASAGNA Another recommended dish, but just okay for me — maybe my expectations were too high? The pasta was a bit soft for my liking, and the sauce tasted similar to the calamari’s tomato sauce — very tomato-forward. 🍝 RIGATONI ALLA VODKA Delicious! The pasta itself comes without protein, but you can add grilled chicken, shrimp, salmon, etc. We added chicken, but honestly, the plain pasta was great on its own — the addition felt unnecessary. 🍫 TRIPLE CHOCOLATE CAKE Here comes the star! A massive, ultra-rich chocolate cake — highly recommended! I usually don’t love chocolate cake, so I was deciding between this and tiramisu. Our server strongly recommended it and warned: “It’s very chocolatey… and pretty big.” When it arrived — WOW, it was HUGE! And incredibly rich. 🍰 Layers of chocolate mousse, cake, and shavings built into a towering dessert — dense, tall, and seriously satisfying. It felt like a slice from a giant birthday cake. We agreed: even with four people, everyone would leave happy. Does anyone know if they sell the whole cake?
