I only recommend this noodle shop in Chicago to close friendsš¤«!
To be honest, Iām really afraid that if this place gets too popular, itāll be even harder for me to get a seat. Itās a noodle shop worth waking up early for, and Iāve already visited twice this month. On weekends, you have to get there right when they open, or youāll be waiting for at least an hour! The restaurant is decorated with lots of the ownerās old photos, which can make you feel a bit nostalgic but also very cozyš. The menu is quite simple, basically just wontons, mixed noodles, soup noodles, cold dishes, and surprisingly, tofu pudding! 1ļøā£ Beef Soup Noodlesš: Unlike the usual braised beef noodles, their beef noodles are incredibly fragrant, probably because they use a lot of red oil (but itās not spicy at all). Thick slices of beef are soaked in the steaming hot soup. A bowl of this in winter is really satisfyingš. 2ļøā£ Beef Sauce Mixed Noodles: I order this mixed noodles every time. The thick meat sauce coats every strand of noodle, and itās paired with pickled vegetables, soybeans. Even with my small appetite, I managed to finish a big bowlš. 3ļøā£ For the cold dishes, you must try the šeggplant salad! The first time I had it, I was really surprisedāhow could eggplant be this delicious?! I could almost taste meat in it. (By the way, cilantro lovers will absolutely adore this dishāhahahahaha). 4ļøā£ The cold chicken in the snacks section is also super tender, like spicy chicken with extra flavor! 5ļøā£ I also ordered their red bean paste cakes. Each one is freshly baked (so thereās a bit of a wait), and theyāre a bit hot to the touch when you get them. But when you break one open while itās still warm and take a bite, the combination with the salty soup is just perfect. š“: Lao Peng You š: 2020 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622 #DeliciousNoodles #BestPlaceForNoodles
