If You Can Only Have One Steak in Chicago

It has to be Gibsons 🥩✨ Pretended to listen to the server’s cut descriptions, then debated the menu forever anyway 😄. Ended up choosing the rich and marbled ribeye — not greasy, just perfectly balanced. Since it’s thick, medium came out a tender pink inside — first bite was pure satisfaction 😋. Sides are à la carte (small portions available). Mushrooms are a must-order — not salty at all, with that savory umami you rarely find in the US. Asparagus was hit or miss — ours were a bit tough and overcooked. Also tried the miso marinated sea bass — incredibly tender and well-seasoned. The enoki mushrooms and peas underneath added great flavor. Soup of the day was a nice light broth, perfect to start. Bread was just okay (maybe because Le Bouchon’s baguette at lunch was too good to beat 🥖). Rating: 4.5/5 ~$100 per person for a just-right meal. Will definitely return next time I’m in Chicago! #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #SteakLovers #GibsonsChicago #FineDining #ChicagoFoodie
