In Rome | Golden Hour

📍 Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle ❣️ Address: Corso Vittorio Emanuele II 00186 Rome 😍 The Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle is a Roman Catholic co-cathedral and minor basilica located in the Piazza Mantegna in Mantua, Lombardy, Italy. It is one of the main works of the Northern Italian Renaissance architecture of the 15th century. 🌸 Construction of the basilica began in 1462, commissioned by Ludovico III Gonzaga and designed by Leon Battista Alberti. It is located on the site of an old Benedictine monastery, and its bell tower still exists. The basilica was not completed until 328 years later, and although Alberti's design was changed later on, it is still considered one of his most complete works. 📝 The exterior of the church is unremarkable, but the interior is exquisitely beautiful. It is recommended to visit before sunset in the evening, which is the most beautiful golden moment. #Travel Fragments #Rome Travel #Church #Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle
