Los Angeles is gearing up for the grand opening of West Harbor, a major new 42-acre waterfront district with dozens of food halls, restaurants, shops, and public spaces. While many of its key features are already activated, the entire West Harbor district is due to host its grand opening in 2026. West Harbor will include a 6,200-seat amphitheater , L.A.’s largest group of outdoor pickleball and padel courts, over-water decks for dining, and much more. Keep reading for a sneak peek at this popular new attraction coming soon to L.A. 125,000 square feet of food and activities ------------------------------------------ West Harbor’s one-mile waterfront promenade will pack a punch with a huge range of attractions and activities. The space is designed for all-day hangs , with several beer gardens, over-water decks, family-friendly play areas, and dog-friendly parks. San Diego-based company The King of Padel is designing a 50,000 square foot complex with 6 padel courts and 10 pickleball courts for open play and organized games. The Board of Harbor Commissioners of the Port of Los Angeles has also approved the next phase of development for a 6,200-seat open-air amphitheater for concerts and events, and plans are also underway for a 175-foot Ferris wheel. On the food side, a carefully curated roster of mostly non-chain restaurants is starting to welcome diners. These include the legendary San Pedro Fish Market , Yamashiro, Mike Hess Brewing with a 20,000‐square‐foot beer garden, Marufuku Ramen, The Baked Bear, and additional casual stalls and cafes. Currently, visitors can already grab a bite at San Pedro Fish Market, sip on a hot tea from Catalina Tea Bar, or join a whale-watching cruise by Harbor Breeze Cruises. Grand opening in 2026 --------------------- West Harbor has not set a specific date for the grand opening in 2026, as several key phases are still pending.
