Kyo Matcha — A Matcha Lover’s Dream in Chicago 🍵

Kyo Matcha in Chinatown is truly a matcha lover’s paradise. Ever since Rakki Cafe in Wicker Park closed, there hasn’t been a good spot for matcha soft serve in the city — until now! 🍨 Matcha Parfait — I chose a vanilla-matcha swirl top, layered with matcha cake cubes, mochi, and red beans. Every bite was fragrant and satisfying. 🌸 Sakura Mizu Shingen Mochi — served with half kinako (roasted soybean flour) and half brown sugar. Similar to Eihei-do’s sakura jelly but less sweet. 🧋 Brown Sugar Milk Foam Cake — the cake was almost drowning in milk foam! Delicious, but too sweet for my taste. Might want to try other flavors (menu includes meat floss, matcha, purple sweet potato, rose strawberry). 📣 Currently in soft opening — official grand opening on Dec 23 & 24. 🎉 Opening promo: all cakes 10% off, soft serve second half off.
