La Boulangerie – A Bakery with Long Lines Even at -10°C! ❄️
Early birds get the worm—and this winter morning, I braved the cold to discover some delicious treats! 🐦🍞 La Boulangerie & Co – Wilson Located in Chicago’s Northside Ravenswood neighborhood, this is a pretty “white” area (demographically speaking) 🏘️. Next to a French school, the shop was already bustling early in the morning with middle-aged white men and women buying baguettes and croissants 🥐👫. But let’s be honest—there really are some tasty finds here! Dubai Chocolate Macaron 🍫✨ (See Pic 1) If you love macarons or Dubai chocolate, you can confidently give this a try—I thought it was absolutely delicious! 😋 Almond Oat Cookie 🍪🌾 The most surprising delight of the day! It looks humble but tastes amazing. Oat cookies feel cleaner and healthier than regular cookies—not overly buttery, not too sticky, and the sweetness is just right!!! Who would’ve thought you could find a not-too-sweet cookie in a classic “white people” bakery? 😭🙌 Baguette Sandwich 🥖🥪 Their sandwiches are generally tasty—my favorite is the Fig & Brie. BUT! The baguette is extremely hard—after finishing one sandwich, I felt like my teeth aged a few years 😫🦷. Croissant Sandwich 🥐🧀 We tried the Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwich—flaky, buttery croissant paired with soft ham. Highly recommend! 👍 Beyond these, their macarons and canelés are also worth ordering. Drinks are just okay—nothing too standout. ☕️😐 📍 1945 W Wilson Ave, Chicago, IL 60640 #BreadAndCheese #DessertTherapy #BakeryLove #FrenchBread #BreadObsessed #ChicagoEats
