Lake Tahoe 2-Day Trip: You HAVE to Visit Secret Cove! ππ
This trip finally made up for my missed chance to visit Lake Tahoe years ago due to work β and this time, I gave it two full days! Tahoe is famous for skiing in winter πΏ and escaping the heat in summer βοΈ, but autumn was also magical! Days were around 15Β°C, and windy moments felt chilly. Pro tip: Check the weather β sunny vs. cloudy days offer completely different experiences! π¨ Accommodation: We stayed at Marriottβs Timber Lodge in South Lake Tahoe. Great location β central to major attractions! The hotel had hot tubs, pools, in-room microwaves, basic kitchen tools, and even a laundry room with detergent β super handy for long trips! π§Ί ποΈ Day 1: π«Ά Emerald Bay State Lookout Parked and walked ~15 mins down to the lake. The trail was easy, and the views from the mid-mountain were stunning even before reaching the bottom! At dusk, every bench felt like a private lookout point πͺβ¨. Off-season = felt like we had the whole park to ourselves! π«Ά Cave Rock Perfect sunset spot! We didnβt hike β just parked by the lake and enjoyed the view. Unforgettable! π ποΈ Day 2: π«Άπ«Ά Secret Cove Nude Beach Didnβt spot any nude sunbathers (π), but this was the most beautiful spot in all of Tahoe! The water was emerald green π β like discovering an oasis after a mini forest adventure. Go on a sunny day β you wonβt regret it! β±οΈ Sand Harbor Highly rated but felt overcrowded and commercialized. Maybe it was the season, but it didnβt wow us. Just a larger beach with different angles of the lake. π Food: Burger Me Found on Google β 8 mins from our hotel. Slow service, but the burgers were the best weβve had in the US! ππ€€ π½οΈ Food: The Oyster Bar A Xiaohongshu recommendation! Cozy spot inside a casino with bar seating. Must-tries: Bouillabaisse (seafood stew with a hint of alcohol β mind-blowing flavors!)
