Lake Tahoe Must-Visit & Skip List ππ
Who visited Tahoe on the worst weather weekend in June? Me! π Despite missing out on clear kayaks, water bikes, and the mountain coaster due to wind and snow, I still managed to circle the lake and hit all the popular spots β my phone storage is full of stunning photos! Hereβs my honest review: β HIGHLY RECOMMEND π Kings Beach πππππ A free public beach β perfect if you couldnβt book Sand Harbor! Rent kayaks or water bikes at great prices π£βοΈ, or just relax and watch Canadian geese and seagulls stroll by π¦π. So peaceful! π Tunnel Creek Trail πππππ Tahoeβs flattest trail β stroller and bike-friendly! Itβs like a mini highlight reel of Tahoe: uphill slopes, downhill lakeside paths, and lookout points with full lake + mountain views ποΈ. One trail to rule them all! π Lakeside Beach πππππ A gorgeous managed beach with swimming areas, showers, and changing rooms ποΈ. Day pass: $30 (a bit pricey) β but go after 7 PM for just $10! ($5 with hotel coupons). Perfect for sunset photos on the swings! π πΈ π Cave Rock ππππ Climb the rocks above the tunnel for a panoramic lake view πͺ¨. The trail is flat and easy (~30 mins). The final climb is optional β the view below is already amazing! β οΈ OVERHYPED / SKIP π Sugar Pine Point State Park πππ Home to the Spirited Away-style underwater tracks π€οΈβ¦ but itβs just a short abandoned rail. Go in the morning for clear photos β afternoon light makes it underwhelming. π Emerald Bay State Park πππ Basically a lookout point for high-up lake and waterfall views π§. Best in the morning β afternoon views are meh. π Secret Cove Beach πππ 40-min trail to a narrow, rocky beach ποΈ. Not swimmable, not super scenic β skip unless youβre a hardcore hiker. #LakeTahoe #TravelTips #BayAreaWeekends #FamilyTravel #TahoeGuide #SkipOrVisit ποΈβοΈ
