📍 Location: Marseille sits on the Mediterranean coast in southern France, ranking as the country’s second-largest city. 🌞 Best Time to Visit: With its mild climate, Marseille is enjoyable year-round. Summer (June–August) is the hottest and busiest season for tourists. For fewer crowds, spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are ideal. 📸 Must-See Attractions: Vieux Port (Old Port): Marseille’s iconic landmark, offering stunning sea views and charming fishing boats. It’s also the perfect spot to savor fresh seafood. Abbey of Saint Victor: An ancient monastery, one of Marseille’s oldest Christian buildings, steeped in history and religious significance. Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde: Perched atop the city’s highest point, this basilica boasts panoramic views and is a symbol of Marseille. Îles du Frioul (Frioul Islands): Take a ferry to these picturesque islands to enjoy sunshine, beaches, and crystal-clear waters. The seafood in Photo 2 is from Entre Terre et Mer: We ordered the two-person set menu (€62). The taste was average—not as good as hyped online—but it’s popular, so book ahead via Google. 🛍️ Shopping Spots: Marseille offers plenty of shopping options, including the bustling Rue de la République and the charming Le Panier (Old Town), where you’ll find boutiques, handicrafts, and local specialties. 💡 Tips: Maybe it’s survivor’s bias, but I didn’t find Marseille as chaotic as rumored—no one tried to rob me for a simple glance.
