Matcha Lovers in Chicago, Donβt Miss This Spot! π΅
Saw photos of these gorgeous drinks from a newly opened matcha shop and rushed over to check it out. The line was super long β and full of non-Asian customers too. How does everyone find out so fast?! β° Waiting Experience: Hand rolls come out quick, but drinks took a while β waited almost an hour. Better to go during off-peak times. 1οΈβ£ Matcha Drinks They have all kinds of creative matcha drinks: strawberry π, mango sticky rice π₯, coconut π₯₯, black sesame, you name it. Popular flavors sell out fast β I originally wanted Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte, but it was gone, so I got the Mango Matcha Latte instead β still amazing! 2οΈβ£ Mango Matcha Latte π₯ My pick β highly recommend! The mango jam at the bottom tastes fresh, not artificial β sweet and pairs perfectly with slightly bitter matcha. Absolutely top-tier! Could rival matcha drinks from Japan or China. 3οΈβ£ Coconut Matcha Latte π₯₯ My partner got this β also delicious! Coconut is whipped into a creamy foam with a mousse-like texture β strong coconut aroma but not heavy. Also a win! 4οΈβ£ Hand Rolls π Wanted to try them all, but hot sellers like crab meat and kimchi bulgogi were sold out. We got these four: π Salmon Avocado β Classic and tasty π Recommend! π Uni β Sea urchin lovers, order without thinking! π Spam β Simple but good, nothing surprising. π Shrimp Tempura β Safe choice, not bad but not memorable. Comes with soy sauce for dipping. I really enjoy hand rolls, so overall pretty happy β will definitely order again π π¬ Overall: Everything is delicious!!! But the wait is just too long right now π Will try again on a weekday when itβs quieter. If they keep this quality up, Iβll be a regular! π΅ Oni Maki π 1424 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60607 #MatchaLatte #Matcha #JapaneseHandRolls #ChicagoEats #ChicagoDrinks #ChicagoLife
