Michelin-Level Breakfast — Park Hyatt Chicago

Recently stayed at Park Hyatt Chicago in downtown — overall a super comfortable experience. The decor, bedding, and amenities all felt premium. Apart from slightly inconsistent service, everything else was delightful! 🥗 Breakfast The standout was the Globalist (waterball guest) complimentary breakfast 🍽️ — available in the restaurant or via room service ($6 delivery fee). It was incredibly delicious — every dish felt chef-made, not just assembled “white people food.” You can order steak, lobster Benedict, and on weekends, brunch specials like chicken & waffles or lobster roll. The lobster was fresh, the steak (medium rare) was superb (medium got a bit dry). And the side of roasted potatoes with scallion oil? Pure carb heaven 🥔💚. 🏤 Interior As the first-ever Park Hyatt, the building has historic charm but rooms are fully renovated with hardwood floors — everything feels fresh and clean. Smart toilets with auto-lid and flush (I kept forgetting to flush at home afterwards 😅). Shower controls are button-operated — sleek and user-friendly. 🛏️ Bed So comfortable my partner wanted to buy the same mattress! Firm yet cozy — perfect for unwinding after a long day with kids. The sofa pulls out into a bed (not great), but you can add a roller bed for $50/day — comes with a thick mattress that looks much comfier. 🚘 Location Right in downtown — steps from Canada Goose and the largest Ralph Lauren store, Neiman Marcus across the street, 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck 3 minutes away. The Magnificent Mile and Harry Potter store are a 10-minute walk — shopping paradise 🛍️ (though taxes are as high as Seattle’s 😂). Park Hyatt guests also get a complimentary Le Labo fragrance sample — sadly, with two kids, I couldn’t explore much. Oak Street feels like NYC’s SoHo — so many chic boutiques. Wish I could ditch the family and shop all day with my girlfriends! ❌ Downsides Housekeeping was mostly staffed by older Black ladies — one made the bed so messily I barely noticed it had been cleaned. The in-room hairdryer was a cheap brand — actually burned me 😣. For a hotel this upscale, a Dyson isn’t too much to ask, right? #HotelLover #LuxuryStay #ParkHyattChicago #MichelinBreakfast #TravelInStyle
