Michelin-Level Italian in Chicago — il Carciofo 🍝✨
Joe Flamm’s new Italian spot il Carciofo has opened in West Loop with big fanfare — and for good reason. Not only did his previous restaurant Rose Mary make waves, but as Season 15 Top Chef winner and former exec chef of Michelin-starred Spiaggia, Italian cuisine is truly his comfort zone. 🧀 Mozzarella + Prosciutto + Bread – A classic Italian starter, but warm mozzarella rolled with prosciutto in fresh bread hits differently. Personally, I prefer Adalina’s ricotta with honey, Siena Tavern’s stracchino, or Monteverde’s burrata. 🍝 Rigatoni Carbonara – Perfectly al dente pasta coated in rich, peppery pancetta and pecorino cream — bold and savory (may be too salty for some). 🥟 Gnocchetti Pesto – Feather-light potato dumplings that melt on the tongue, leaving behind bright basil pesto flavor. 🍅 Tagliatelle with Oxtail Ragu – Tender braised oxtail and soft pasta in a tangy tomato sauce — comforting and satisfying to the last bite. The server recommended 4–6 dishes to share for two — a Rezdôra-style approach that encourages exploring the menu. Still new, so there’s room to grow, but the potential is clear. Already booked solid a month out, but prime-time reservations are still possible. Definitely worth the hype. 📍 il Carciofo 1045 W Fulton St, Chicago, IL 60607 #ilCarciofo #JoeFlamm #ChicagoItalian #WestLoop #TopChef #MichelinVibes #PastaHeaven
