MIKAMI🍜 Chicago Has a New Happy Place!
Oh my goodness — South Loop finally has a legit restaurant! Overjoyed! Officially declaring this my new go-to spot. 🥳 🍜 Ramen – Tried it and loved it! Broth is flavorful without that artificial taste, noodles are perfectly chewy. The seafood udon comes with a whole crispy soft-shell crab! 🦀 🍗 Wings – Amazing! Coated in salted egg yolk — so fragrant and delicious. Chicken karaage is also great and comes in a huge portion (we couldn’t finish it between two people). 🔥 Robata (Happy Hour 4–6 PM) – Each skewer is $2 off during happy hour — so worth it! We’ve tried: beef-wrapped chili, whole grilled squid, shrimp ball skewers… almost no misses! 🍡 Dessert – The menu said "mochi," but it’s actually a big bowl of milk mochi (milky rice cake)! Served with black sesame powder and osmanthus syrup — super satisfying and unique. 💰 Prices aren’t outrageous — typical city izakaya pricing.
