Momotaro: Not-Too-Expensive Michelin Japanese Cuisine 🍣
When you’re craving Japanese food and want a taste of that “Michelin-level” fine dining without breaking the bank, Momotaro in Chicago is a great choice! Today’s Menu 🍲🍜🍳 📌 Scallop Moto – An appetizer with incredibly tender scallops! (FYI: the white stuff underneath isn’t daikon—it’s salt… 😅) 📌 Gyutan / Lamb Kushi / Sliders / Mishima Skirt – Yakitori skewers were all delicious—no fails here! Simple seasoning, but perfect meat quality and grilling. 📌 Sashimi / Nigiri – We tried salmon, bluefin tuna chutoro (insanely good!), eel, and sweet shrimp (Botan Ebi—sweeter and more tender than expected!). 📌 Beef Chahan – Many online say this Wagyu fried rice is just okay, but I loved it! Rich, slightly spicy, generous portion, and the crispy rice at the bottom was amazing. 📌 Maneki-Neko – A chocolate bar with caramel ice cream. The chocolate has a truffle-like texture—perfect with the sweet ice cream! We also enjoyed some drinks 🍸🍹🥃: 📌 Monk’s Journey – Server-recommended sweet cocktail with a hint of cucumber. 📌 Toki Highball – Whisky and tonic—refreshing if you like whisky!
